Your first job in 15 minutes

Create your first job by adding the role details, choosing how candidates will move through the hiring process, and reviewing the job before you publish. ImpactHire saves the job as a draft while you work, so you can leave and return to it before publishing.

 Create

You can start a job in three ways:

  • Manually: Start with an empty job.
  • Reuse a previous job: Copy a job you posted before into a new draft.
  • With AI: Describe the role and let ImpactHire draft it for you.

AI-generated content is shown to you before it becomes part of the job. You can accept, edit, or reject each suggestion.

A job is saved as a draft from the first step. Drafts are private, take no applications, and can be left unfinished and completed later.

Before you can publish, the job must include:

  • Title and description
  • Department
  • Employment type
  • Seniority
  • Minimum pay, currency, and pay period
  • Remote policy and workplace
  • A hiring manager
  • A workflow
  • An application rubric

Skills, maximum pay, openings, teams, screening questions, automations, and job boards are optional. Openings default to one if you do not change them.

Screen

After adding the job details, work through the remaining setup in this order:

  1. Choose or build the workflow.
  2. Complete the application rubric.
  3. Add screening questions, if needed.
  4. Add automations, if needed.
  5. Choose job boards, if needed.
  6. Review the job before publishing.

Screening questions, automations, and job boards are optional. You can skip all three and still publish once the required parts of the job are complete.

The application rubric is required. It defines what you are looking for in candidates and must be completed for every job.

Publish

Review the job before publishing. The full publishing requirements are checked at this point, rather than while you are working on the draft.

Publishing makes the job live and able to accept applications. Where the job appears is a separate choice.

The company career page is selected as a destination by default. Job boards are optional and must be selected separately. Every published job also receives a link that you can share directly.

A published job can have the career page destination turned off and no job boards selected. In that case, the job is still live and can accept applications from people who have its link. The link is unlisted, not secret.
