Tracking where candidates come from

See which channels are bringing candidates into your hiring process so you can understand where applications originate. ImpactHire records a source for each application using tagged links and referral information.

Sources

ImpactHire determines an application's source in this order:

  1. Tagged link — if the candidate arrives through a link containing source information, ImpactHire uses that source.
  2. Referrer — if there is no tagged source, ImpactHire uses available referral information.
  3. Unknown — if neither is available, the source is recorded as Unknown.

You can use tagged links when sharing a job through different channels to make source tracking more specific.

A source tells you how ImpactHire identified the candidate's arrival. It does not prove every place the candidate saw or learned about the job before applying.

Cost per source

ImpactHire tracks application sources, but the current documentation does not specify job board advertising spend or a cost-per-source calculation.

The current ImpactHire documentation does not specify this.
