# Scheduling interviews
## Eliminate scheduling back-and-forth by letting candidates choose from times that work for the interviewer. ImpactHire combines interviewer availability with connected calendar commitments, then shows candidates the times that are actually available.
**Connecting your calendar**
Connect your Google or Microsoft calendar before scheduling your first interview.
ImpactHire uses your connected calendar to remove busy times from the availability offered to candidates. When an interview is booked, it is added to the connected calendar.
Calendar connections belong to each person rather than the company, so availability reflects the calendar of the person hosting the interview.
**Self-booking**
When scheduling an interview, you can choose the host, interview length, and either a booking window or an exact time. You can also add an interview template, agenda, and panellists.
For interviews attached to a workflow stage, candidates book within a window.
ImpactHire determines the available times using:
- The interviewer's availability.
- Existing interviews and buffers.
- Busy times in the interviewer's connected calendar.
The candidate receives a private booking link showing the role, company, host, and interview length. They choose from the available times.
Once booked, the candidate receives confirmation and calendar information.
If you schedule an exact time instead, the candidate can accept or decline it. If they decline, the interview closes and the host is notified. The candidate remains in their current workflow stage.
**Timezones**
Candidates see available interview times in their own timezone. The booking page shows which timezone is being used.
Interviewer availability is interpreted using the interviewer's timezone, so candidates and interviewers do not need to manually convert times before booking.
