Roles and permissions

Give people the access they need without giving everyone control of the whole account. ImpactHire separates account-wide roles from team and job access, so recruiting access can match each person's responsibilities.

Your account role determines what you can access across ImpactHire. Owner, Admin, and Recruiter roles provide account-wide access at different levels. Members only get access through their teams and jobs that name them as hiring manager.

  • Owner

Every account has one Owner.

The Owner can do everything an Admin can do. They are also responsible for billing, closing the account, and transferring ownership.

The Owner is not available as a role when inviting someone. Ownership must be transferred separately by the current Owner.

  • Admin

Admins can access everything in ImpactHire, including recruiting, people, company settings, and billing.

Admins can invite and deactivate people and choose their account roles, teams, and team roles.

  • Recruiter

Recruiters can run recruiting across every job in the account.

They do not control people or billing.

  • Member

Members have no account-wide access.

Their access comes from:

  • Teams they belong to.
  • Jobs that name them as hiring manager.

A Member with no team and no job that names them as hiring manager will not see any jobs.

  • Who sees what

Access to jobs adds up. A person can see a job when at least one of these applies:

  • Their account role gives them access to every job.
  • One of their teams is attached to the job.
  • The job names them as its hiring manager.

When someone has access to a job, they can see the information within that job, including its salary range.
