Drafts, pausing and closing

Control when a job accepts new applications without losing the hiring work already attached to it. Jobs move between Draft, Open, Paused, and Closed states, with each state determining whether candidates can find and apply for the role.

Draft

A Draft job is private and does not accept applications.

You can continue configuring the job, workflow, rubric, screening, automations, and distribution before publishing it.

Publishing changes the job from Draft to Open.

Open

An Open job is live and can accept applications.

Where candidates can discover it depends on the public destinations you have selected. A job can remain Open with all public destinations turned off. In that case, it is live and can still accept applications through its private link, but it is unlisted.

Paused

Pausing a job stops new applications without ending the hiring process.

A Paused job is hidden from public destinations and does not accept new applications. Candidates who have already applied remain in the job and can continue moving through the hiring process.

Use Paused when you want to stop collecting applications temporarily while keeping the existing process active.

Closed

Closing a job ends the role and stops new applications.

Existing hiring records remain available, and the job can be reopened later.

Reopening a job does not reverse decisions already made. For example, a candidate who was previously rejected does not become active again simply because the job is reopened.
