Creating your account
ImpactHire accounts are created with a verified email address. You can sign in with a password, Google, or Microsoft. If your verified work email domain already belongs to an ImpactHire account, you can request to join that company instead of creating another account.
Sign up {#sign-up}
ImpactHire signup is self-service. You do not need an invitation or account approval to create a new company account.
To create your account:
- Sign up with your email address.
- Confirm your email using the link sent to your inbox.
- Enter your name and company name.
Email verification is required before you can continue. When a new company account is created, ImpactHire also reserves its career page address based on the company name.
If you use a work email domain that is already associated with an ImpactHire company, ImpactHire handles your signup differently. See Joining your company below.
Join your company {#join-your-company}ImpactHire checks the domain of your verified email address to determine whether your company already has an account. The domain is used for company discovery and not for another purpose.
If your verified work email domain matches an existing ImpactHire account, ImpactHire does not create a second company account. Instead, you can send a request to join the existing company.
An Admin at that company approves or declines your request. If they approve it, they also choose your account role.
Free email providers do not trigger company discovery. For example, signing up with a Gmail address creates a new account rather than offering to join a company with other Gmail users.
The current ImpactHire documentation does not specify how domain discovery handles companies that intentionally need multiple ImpactHire accounts for different departments or billing centres.
Sign-in options {#sign-in-options}You can sign in to ImpactHire using:
- Email and password
- Microsoft
When you use Google, your ImpactHire sign-in is tied to the Google account itself, not only to a matching email address.
Google and Microsoft sign-in can also carry your company's existing account security controls. For example, if your organisation disables the connected mailbox when you leave, you lose access through that sign-in method.
ImpactHire keeps an inactive session signed in for up to 30 days. Active use extends the session. You can sign out of every device, and an Admin can end your access immediately by deactivating your ImpactHire account.
